I thought, with lockdown still continuing , things would be a lot busier here .
What happens when lockdown "ends" on may 9th .
Will it be a gradual resumption to normality - or will bars / restaurants open for business again . At least those venues who have managed to weather the storm.
I fear , the longer they have to wait - the fewer of them will be in a position to reopen.

A reason for little or no activity on here is because we are on Lockdown seeing little or nothing of the outside world and so have little or nothing positive to post !!!
I have been told by my landlord that my business will be closed until September at the earliest
which suggests the Lockdown will not be FULLY lifted for some time to come
If as was suggested in the Spanish press the Canery Isles are looking to open its doors from August 1st to Spanish Nations with International visitors allowed from October 1st but this is only a proposal at the moment

Yes - as you both rightly say - nothing is guaranteed at the moment.

Hi, yes i heard September min for bars and restaurants as they was going to be the last ones to open, i assume the islands be open first as they can contain movement better to see what is happening

we dont want a second lot coming to us

You're right Spain Costas. A second wave is the last thing we need .
If that were to happen - it will be lockdown until the end of the year.

The trouble is you need tourists and tourists typically come from afar.

So you run a risk of introducing the virus no matter what.

I read the UK is considering 14 day quarantine for travellers so how would that work if you were on your weeks holiday?

you would have to go for 3 weeks 2 weeks quarantine and 1 week holiday crazy

I honestly do not see the bars opening anytime soon. The proposals that have been put forward to the Spanish Government would be near to impossible to put into practice and impossible to police.Going out to socialise be it a meal or simply a drink with friends SHOULD be something to enjoy and look forward to The current proposals are far from that. In all honesty despite the great downturn in both deaths and infections I cannot see bars and restaurants opening this summer I hope I am wrong but thats how I feel at the moment
I think the government will be careful to try and eliminate a second wave which would bring a return to lockdown and destroy morale
