Ryanair has cut its lead in fare to £5

Ryanair has cut its lead in fare to £5 for the next 48 hours to try to encourage customers to book late summer and early autumn breaks despite the ongoing travel restrictions.

The airline says the sale, which ends at midnight tomorrow, is across a million seats.

The discounted fares are available on flights to 240 destinations, but many cities on Ryanair's network have travel restrictions in place.

With no guarantee these restrictions will be lifted before the end of October and the possibility that even more destinations could be added to the UK government's no-go list in the coming days, Ryanair is clearly hoping that with fares that cost less than a pint customers will be prepared to book and risk losing their money if restrictions remain.

Booking a flight at £5 is ok . Not a fortune to lose , if it has to be cancelled.
