The issue with the Fibre connections here can be the companies offering it lack the overall infrastructure to cope with demand.

While a connection from your house to their central server might be fantastically quick the connection from them to the rest of the internet might be clogged up. You will then suffer the slowest link and at peak times the contention rate will be so bad your 100 or 300mbs connection will be lucky to get 10mbs.

Having said that I am with OLE with a 300mbs connection and given my job I can confirm it's reliable, fast and stable albeit not always 300.

Very good value for money too.

Other clients of mine don't shout the praises of their suppliers so ask before you commit.

Also take into consideration you internal network.

No point having over 100 mbs if your internal hardware can only handle up to 100.

Most older pcs have 100mb hard wired network controllers so any more really isn't worth it unless you have many users. Also not all WiFi connections can go above 100 and especially if the signal is low.

If you invest in gigabit network controllers rated to 1000mbs and the latest 5g WiFi connections you would benefit.from the extra speed.

We invested in a home hub WiFi system comprising 3 units that connect to each other extending the WiFi around the house. One of the units is connected via the gigabit network connection of the modem and it uses it's own resources to connect to the others. With my phone I get a 5g connection all over the house and mostly the speed is between 200 and 300 depending on the time of day.

5g us just the technology relating to the WiFi capability.

We use ole fibre to connect the house then use tp-link deco to rout about the house

Been with Ole 6 Years upgraded to their Fibre option when available in our area last August Got to say its been first class even with the terrible weather in both September & December. Well worth checking out and at 25 e per month sensibly priced
