I need information from you who is using a compact Epson all in one printer for home use, which is compatible with a PC and also iPad. Any recommendations? And also any model to avoid?
Reason why I was thinking of Epson.
1 My last faithful Epson lasted 20 years.
2.I was able to use use compatible cartridges which were inexpensive.
Many thanks

The thing about most printers is they are invariably relatively cheap to buy, but the ink cartridges are expensive if you use the originals. I used to be a dedicated Epson user too, because you could get cheaper look alike cartridges off the internet.
I have since discovered HP have an inks supply contract. You buy a cheap HP printer, or all in 1 printer scanner. Then you contract to buy copies from HP.
I pay 2.99€ per month and can make 50 copies. When you need new ink cartridges, HP work this out as they know how many copies you have made, they arrive in the post well before you need them.
If you go over your contracted limit, you first get a warning from HP that you are near, you can buy extra copies or go up to the next level of 100 copies for 4.99€.
You can mix and match month by month and you can roll over any unused copies to the following month.
I find this service a lot more convenient and cost effective, plus you are always using original inks.

Thank you.
It is reassuring to know that setup was easy. Which model did you go for?
Did it come with ink?

If you print mainly in mono it is worth investing in a Mono laser printer they are quite cheap and cost very little to run I have an old HP laserjet 1018 and it get a lot of use 1 Toner cartridge last about 9 months and it gets a lot of use brilliant prinet cost me 10 euros about 12 years ago still going strong looks like it will go on forever Toner cartridge cost 7 euros from amazon good for at least 2000 pages you can also get quite inexpensive colour lasers from around 50 euros today
