Does anyone know with any certainty where I can purchase fresh Okra --I would like to know if any shop stocks it as a regular line--In the UK easily available from major superstores but not so here.

Ive seen this for sale in the Chinese and Indian shops in Torrevieja. Just down the road from the bus station on Calle Habaneras. I have also seen it for sale in Supercor but not as regularly.

That's a new veg on me. It looks like a courgette or a green pepper. What does it taste like?

I thought Okra was used in Indian cooking.

Thank you for the responses--I will keep trying Supercor as that is nearest to me
Popped over to UK for Christmas and was able to indulge--got addicted to it in the 70's eating too many bhindi bhajee in Indian restaurants --but the Indian and Chinese food in UK has deteriorated so taught myself to cook
Chinese okra is very similar to Asian /African okra in look and taste so it is a matter of what is available
Well worth a try if you have never had it before

Yes indeed ---ladies fingers --what I have always know it as ---interestingly enough---I also love "gentlemen's toes"--very glutinous but delicious when cooked right

1 There are some Morrocan groceries shops in Pillar de Horadada, who might have them.
2 On Saturday Market ( near L Zenia) there is sometimes a stall managed by a Maxican gentleman. He sells corriander, he might be able to help.
3 Ask Balti Towers indian restaurant who are on Golden Mile of Cabo Roig, they will guide you where to shop.
4. Torrevieja market.
It is very tasty vegetable which can be cooked if you are in a hurry. In uk most Asian grocery shops sell them.
I get mine from frozen section in Morrisons..
Good luck and happy cooking.
