those figures mean that Torrevieja will now receive 20% less income from Valencia due to the padron figures being reduced

The adjustment was greatest in 2018 and seems to be rising again gradually which is better than a declining population. Alicante experienced for the first time more deaths than births which is not good for the pension situation.

I agree Torrevieja Ayuntamiento is very behind the times in introducing technology for everyday requirements for citizens. You should be able to register on-line by uploading any documentary proof. Once you are registered on the Padron you should then be able to generate a cert for any other services which require an up-to-date Padron Cert.

You can use a digital certificate to do many things but there are still gaps in what you can do. However, you can get appointments which does help; at least on the Orihuela Costa.

We have found going to a more remote location does help and when they question why you are using a remote location we just say its because we want to be dealt with in Spanish and they like that!

But i recommend all to get a digital certificate which allows a lot, especially with driving stuff like looking at multas, paying fines, checking the status of vehicles prior to purchase etc.
