Compliments of Keith Barry
JUNE the 21st 2020 Spaniards can freely move around the country if there are no unforeseen events - and politics with a key decision: to return power to the autonomous regions.
FASE TWO WHAT OPENS UP! The province of Alicante enters phase 2 ,From today, people from Alicante can sunbathe and bathe on some beaches, consume inside bars and restaurants and go to shopping centres. The limit in a group goes from 10 to 15 people and you can walk whenever except in the oldest band of 70 plus. A leap towards new normality for the entire province. From today, Alicante is fully involved in a de-escalation that already allows sunbathing and bathing on the beaches. Of course, each city council may establish access limitations, residence time and capacity to ensure an interpersonal distance of two meters between bathers. Starting today by appointment you can make visits to nursing homes, sheltered homes and centres for people with functional diversity. It will also be allowed to walk at any time except in the strip reserved for the elderly (from 10 to 12 and from 19 to 20),
RESTAURANTS Another of the main novelties will be consumption within bars and restaurants, which will begin to provide meals inside their premises as long as it is 40% of their capacity and keeping two meters between tables.
SHOPPING The shopping centres also open their doors with a maximum of 30% of the capacity for the common areas, where you can only transit. For the premises, the maximum allowed will be 40%. I spoke to La Zenia Boulevard about two people shopping together, they said it is down to individual shops who they let in. There will be queues outside with control of how many enter each shop. As one leaves one can enter. But no waiting outside shops only on bar terraces!
CINEMAS, theatres or auditoriums will also be reopened as long as it is with pre-assigned seats and with the limitation of a third of the capacity. Places of worship may not exceed 50% of their capacity and weddings can be held with 100 guests outdoors or 50 in a closed room. Recreational and sports pools are also open. An appointment and two meters between bathers will be required. In sports, one person per street.
STAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALICANTE The Consell anticipates that there will be movement between provinces from June 15. The Generalitat is considering including new measures in phase 3, such as holding fairs. Health authorities appeal to prudence and believes that in two weeks the Valencian Community will go to the last phase.
RENT A CAR The province's rent a car, to the limit: suffers a 95 percent turnover drop. Alicante car rental companies ask for measures to avoid bankruptcy and hope to recover from July with foreign tourism. The truth is that in many companies they are already quantifying losses of approximately 90% of the business, especially those that operate in tourist areas, ". "We make an appeal to the autonomous administrations, given the situation of the associates of the national employers, to immediately implement a line of complementary guarantees to the ICO up to 100% of them. Without these credits it can lead to the closure of more than 30% of local rental offices,
DEATHS The Community of Valencia has its first day without deaths since the start of the pandemic. The province again adds only a single new contagion while nine other people are discharged free of covid 19.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO Under Phase 3, street cafés will be able to open at 75% capacity, while summer day camps and outdoor activities will be permitted for children, albeit with limited numbers. Patrons will be able to be served at bars once more, provided they respect a two-meter distance with other customers or groups of customers. Also permitted will be social meetings of up to 20 people. The timetables for taking walks and exercise will be completely eliminated under Phase 3
Casinos, betting houses and bingo halls can also reopen under Phase 3, with capacity limited to 50% and an overall limit of 50 people. The timetables for taking walks and exercise - which in areas in Phase 2 had been reduced to just specific times for seniors - are also completely eliminated.
Travel between provinces, islands or territorial units will still be limited under this phase, with some exceptions, such as for work reasons, to return to one’s primary residence, or for reasons of force majeure. But daily routines will be inching toward what the Spanish government has dubbed “the new normality,” with safety measures still front and center.
Extreme measures of hygiene and precautions will be required when there is contact with those who are especially vulnerable to Covid-19, and home-working will still be recommended where possible. All retail outlets will be able to open regardless of their size, provided that capacity is limited to 50% and social distancing of two meters is observed between customers - if this is not possible, only one customer will be able to enter at a time. Common and recreational areas in shopping malls will be able to reopen, at 40% capacity. Stores located in malls will be able to accept 50% of their usual capacity. Cultural activities will be permitted in libraries and museums, while groups of up to 30 people will be able to enjoy nature and active tourism. Zoos and aquariums can reopen with a limit of 50% capacity, while congresses can go ahead with up to 80 attendees.
MY THOUGHTS :- Some one has messed up with the dates! If we Alicante are going into fase 2 today and each fase last for 2 weeks That means we will go into fase 3 on the 15TH of June Then two weeks in fase 3 takes us to the 28th of June which is the end date! But the state of alarm finished on the 21st. So two things can happen. 1. Is we only have just one week in fase 2 then move to fase 3 on the 8th of June or 2. Is we do the 2 weeks in fase two but only have 1 weeks in fase 3. I have already heard we might pass to 3 on June 8th. This is to be confirmed next Saturday!
