Aye I know - but I'll never give up.

There was a protest in Paris last week re face masks. One girl, a student, when asked by a UK journalist why she was against the wearing of masks - her answer was that covid is over-hyped "it only affects the over 60's" was her comment.

Here in NI 4 people lost their life to covid last week - no detail on their age and is totally irrelevant imo - if only one person over the entire year can be saved by us all taking precautions then it's worth that one life - thing is we'll never know that we saved a life but we will always know that we tried.

Well said.
I never understand the selfishness even arrogance of people.
Even if they had underlying conditions is no excuse, they still died early. Many dont and still die.
The idea is to help people survive, and if wearing a mask helps even by 1% then it is worth it.
To compare it to flu is wrong. As already said it is on top of flu deaths. Also for many types of flu there is a vaccine that can help many.

Yes Bogeyman - this thing about underlying health is almost like a get out - one US politician commented ' they are at end of life'.

John Fleming falls into this contrived category, he has battled cancer this past 10 years, he recently went into hospital for some treatment, nothing much, his prognosis is still good - he is a cancer survivor.

Due to get home 2 weeks ago - but somehow covid wormed it's way into the hospital - not sure how but it did. He was tested before getting home and it was a positive result.

He has died in the past 48 hours, he told his daughter that he didn't want to go - he wanted his story told so I'm telling it.

I've seen people call this a 'beer bug' or a 'little flu' - it's none of these, it's a virus that kills.

We do not have to fear it, we don't even have to respect it - but we must fight against it.

Mr Fleming's story as told by his daughter today on NI news:

"When I went in to see him, he said, 'I didn't bargain for this - I don't want to die, I'm afraid of dying'," said Mrs Stewart.

"He asked me to tell his story, because he didn't want another family to go through what we have been through."

My sympathies to both of you on your losses and/or knowledge of losses.
How hurtful to have that happen, to read about all the deaths and then have others say its all a hoax and trying to persuade others.
I wonder how they would feel if they lost someone close.

Nobody ( myself included ) has said Covid-19 is a hoax . It's out there .
The hoax is blowing it out of all proportion, to gain complete control over people's lives.
If none of you can see that - then there's no hope for you .
The control has only just started .
Wait until this time next year . You ain't seen nothing yet .
Of course , my sympathies lie with the families of anyone who has lost their lives.
I remember your first post about your brother, JamesB.
Strangely, this time you have omitted ( as you did in your first post ) that he had other underlying health problems.
It comes as no surprise to me , that you'd like to see me booted off this forum .
That is where you get your perverse pleasure .
But , you can relax now , in the knowledge that I will now Join Mike Walsh and Athos, and leave this forum immediately - before you completely wreck it , as you have done with other local forums.
GOODBYE .

Tosh you are not being booted off unless you break the rules of the forum and you have not done that so far although you have come close

Freddo. There will be "no" forum left , if JamesB has his way .
Getting people booted off , is his goal in life .
He's already done enough damage on other forums .
Look at his popularity rating on 24/7.
Better , I go now , and deprive him of any more satisfaction.

My life, along with most others peoples has been controlled.
Its called society. Rules are there now. Without rules and control you have anarchy.
What is going to happen in 12 months that will so different from today.

But the fact is that JamesB has no power to get people thrown off this Forum that is down to me and the Webmaster

["Athos"]Everybody has sympathy with those badly affected by Covid...abd yes, some think it is panic, a hoax,[/quote]

Yes sympathy and understanding should be true and paramount. From what I have read and heard locally and nationally some do not feel like that and are more concerned about promoting some strange agenda, continually calling it a hoax, or a plan and showing no sympathy for the deceased and denying covid.
Piers Corbyn being a prime example who has convinced others, all of who have been well descibed by webmaster on here as selfish prats.
